getting some new forged pistons as the machine shop i went to completely F'd up on my build. looking at the JE pistons as thats what i mostly hear about around here. contemplating the 9:1 or the 9.7:1. not too sure which ones would be better for my application. going to be running the peakboost ramhorn kit with the GT30 garrett and am looking for around 350 to the wheels. maybe crank it up to arround 400 on track days. i know most ppl are going to say go with 9:1 as its easier to tune and is safer, but why not run a higher compression and just a little less boost?? the effective compression would be around the same area so im just wondering why everyone always just goes with the lower comp.?? im not going to skimp on the tune as thats pretty much what counts at the end of the day and i have all winter to save for this project. what are your thoughts guru's?? also ive been playing around on a compression ratio calculator (http://www.zealautowerks.com/) and cant seem to figure out the comp. height in mm's of the JE's so i can find out what my compression ratio would end up at with either sets of pistons. anyone know what the comp. height is of them??

BTW my setup is 81.5mm bored ITR block, crank, head, toda B's for now, eagle H beams.

just remember, as your compression ratio goes up, your window for error closes.

9.7:1 shouldnt make that much of a difference.
