Default piggy-back computers

looking into the piggy-back systems...and im just curious how much boost they will allow you to run, and how efficient they are...ones im looking at are the e-manage, and vafc...any other good ones...let me know your thoughts, i know stand-alone is better. but i cant afford that now, and im gonna need some sort of control...
