This is how far the fire got


So I took everything out of the engine bay and sanded and repainted it a glossy black, notice the crispy oil cap.


After lots of painting and soldering a new wiring harness together it looks like this


And to be sure theres no more fires from additional injectors I got this

Waiting for the dmv to send me my reconstructive vehicle title. I was originally gonna junk this thing but I decided what the hell why not fix it. Hope you guys like.

How did the fire start?

I was using two additional 440cc injectors controlled by an hks aic. One of the fuel lines split, started spraying, and a huge flame came out of the hood! The ironic thing is, the fire started in front of a fire cheifs house. He comes out and the fire dept came pretty quick. They took an axe to my hood and put the fire out. I got a salvage title for the car ( big mistake ) and decided rather than junk it, to fix it. I'm still surprised all the electronics of the car still work after soldering about 70 wires back together. So now I'm waiting for my new title from the dmv so I can drive it once again.

 

Well when the car sits for over a year that tends to happen. New brake setup is in the works.

 

I had a fuel line spraying for a few days...driving around on it, didnt know what it was....luckily this didnt happen to me

 

Hmm, looks just like my car...minus the fire damage. Where in Pa are you? Pocono area from the sounds of your s/n.
