Default Philly Dyno Day Aftermath

Well we had a good day today. It was great to meet alot of you guys. I had a great time, unfortunately the owner wouldnt make my dumptube so I didnt run today. Something about insurance blah blah blah. Oh well I was happy to see the 2 cars that I had a hand in made some great numbers.

Pete(ITR206) with his 2k1 ITR with his custom kit, came out with 293whp at 8psi. Which was unbelievable. Congrats Pete!
Tim(Hondatec38) with his 99 Si with greddy kit, came out with 210whp at 10psi.
Great numbers for both.
Everyone else seemed to do well also. The T88 Supra I believe came out with 550whp at the end.

HERE ARE SOME PICS FROM TODAY's EVENT.

This is where we were. In the middle of nowhere. Some guys had a heck of a time finding the place.

Here is another pic

Black hatch, sorry man I forget your name.

Danny's LS auto turbo made 191whp. Time for 5speed conversion Danny

First Supra showed up. Stock turbos with greddy IC

Second Supra. Single T88 Conversion. 550+whp

This was one of Pete's Dyno charts before he made his 293whp pull

Tim and I found a great spot for a pic

Thats all I have. Sorry that I didnt get everyone's car. I had to leave early for a family emergency. Everything is cool now. Thanks for coming guys and post up those pics when you get em. Enjoyed meeting everyone

Hey sorry I couldn't make it but I still don't have my car back . Anyway, for next time (assuming there is one) can we work something out where everyone who wants to go puts a non-refundable deposit down so you don't get left in the cold if too many people drop out?

Yeah, when that supra spooled that huge slug it sounded amazing!
Did anyone else catch those huge DR he was sporting?
But I have to tell you pete your ITR sounded pretty goddamn aggressive in that garage.
All in all I had a great time meeting all the other H-T members & helping out where I could.
BTW "EVAN" (sorry) did you get home without any, problems I was sweating bullets when I could'nt get your ZDYNE running. Glad we finally got your car moving.

There will most definately be a round two!
Time to see what the SOHC has in her.

Thanks Pete.

I think everything went well today. I was shooting for 300whp on 8psi, and we came close. I think if the car didnt do 10 dyno pulls in a row we would have been hovering around 300whp mark. Get a 3" dp, 3" exhaust and you are there!

Prophet's car made 250whp, 190~5 ft-lb of torque. Its was actually 5.2lb of boost through the hondalogger, so his car is pulling some very impressive numbers for 7 dyno pulls. I was worried that tuning without tuning the partial throttle wouldnt work to well, but it all worked out very nicely.

I took a look at the graphs the guy was printing out, and they look like crap as far as how choppy that are. I think that he left them on setting s2 or s3, they should be set at s4 to make the graphs a bit more smooth. Prophet's final dyno chart was very linear, and the air/fuel was basically a straight line in boost, 12:1.

Overall the day went great. I got to meet alot of you guys from the area. Its great to see that there are so many around the area that are interested in the honda FI scene. I can't wait to get my 2.0L beast on the dyno late spring, along with three other FI honda hatchbacks varying in level of build-ups.

yeah evans car made it fine home. i wish we could have gotten it tuned smoothly on the dyno for some nice #'s.it was weird that all of the power was dropping off after 5500 rpm's. 230 hsp at 5000 wasnt bad on 9.5 psi, too bad it didnt pull after 5500.

thanks alot jeff for giving his zydne a shot. and thanks ed for helping us get the car running.it would have been alot quicker had either of us been better at math.

we are definatly going to go back there , you cant beat 65$/hr with wide band.

well it was nice meeting everyone. hope to do it again.

i definately had a great time. Got to meet a few people face to face, saw some nice cars, and of course finally got the car tuned (no more 16mpg for me!)

the place we dynoed at is xoticmotorsports.com.

Wish the zdyne woulda worked out on the car better for you guys....that car is going to be nuts once you figure out the problem.

definately much props to jeff for getting this tuned after so many problems.

i think i 's again..

[edit]
jeff: i am finally getting good milage. Yesterday I hit an easy 220 before I needed more gas and that was AFTER i put 70 miles on the car on the EMS (RICH AS HELL) AFTER the dyno pulls and AFTER i did a mulitude of "tests" to make sure the car runs good on route 78 and going back to allentown with chad last night. I think i can hit close to 300 if i drive off boost..

Awesome. From what i could tell by the guys wideband at the dyno, your air/fuel were progressive from 15:1 super light partial throttle, 14:1 light partial throttle, 13:1 medium/heavy partial throttle, and finally 12:1 in boost. I am very impressed with your car for the little amount of boost you are running to achieve the HP. Besides your manifold, another reason that your making good numbers at lower boost levels is because your compressor is a 54 trim. They are very efficient below 15lbs on a gsr. 10 psi you'll be breaking into the 78% efficiency range, and making the most power with the turbo.

Seriously...what is up with that sign? Beware of agressive drivers?

Did the shop put that up?

The weird thing about those signs is that they are all over our area in PA. You'll see them like every mile or something like that. I always wanted to take one....

Yes I will be up there with Pete's crew, Tim and I. I had a great time at the dyno, too bad I couldn't run because the shop owner wouldnt make my dumptube because there were too many people in the shop "and its a liability" blah blah blah. Hopefully my setup will be running mint next time you guys see my car . Congrats to Pete, Tim, Prophet, Danny, and others for putting down some great numbers. Hopefully next round we can get even more to show up. Also thanks to Jeff for helping out tuning Hondata's and teaching me alot (You didn't know I was looking over your shoulder watching you tune ) Thanks again to everyone.

the 99si 210whp @ 10psi with the greddy kit? #'s seem a bit low with the 18g @ 10 psi, would have at least expected 250whp or more. looked like fun though
