Default Performance difference?

OK here the deal. I had a JDM S1 with a stock clutch on my boosted LS motor. I mean the JDM S1 gearing is so short on my LS motor that 5th gear tops out where my old YS1 topped out in 4th.......get the picture? In the space where I used to have 4 gears i've got 5, too short for my taste. Now i'm getting ready to return to an LS tranny with a Clutchnet Stage 2. I'm just wondering what the difference in performance will be in my car?

I dont think there is a performance difference as far as WHP. However with the LS trans which has longer gears, you will stay in boost for a longer period of time before you have to change gears. The longer i tend to stay in boost, the bigger my smile gets.

heh heh, good point ekb18c. Those gears are just to short for a car with a 7k redline. Shifting At redline usually puts me at 4500~5000 in the next gear, just not enough time to use all the power before i've got to shift. Short gears make for lots of wheel spin too, especailly in a 1800lbs car.........
