I don't think the op is trying to make a template, I think he is trying to turbo his car and only has a few things and $500 to make it happen

Just because I had a bunch of stuff left over from my last honda build doesn't negate the fact that my turbo was obtained at a cost to me of 1000 dollars....
he has $500 to complete his turbo build, it makes no difference that those "used" parts cost him something at somepoint. he is not saying he wants a complete from scratch turbo kit for $500, he wants the rest of what he needs for $500, I don't understand why nobody can comprehend this.

either way, unless its not tuned, or op can tune it himself... there is no way it will be reliable for $500 + all the parts he already has. but it sure is fun to see all the funny comments along the way.

I had my turbo custom built for my ls/vtec... by mac aka TheShodan who i've known for years. I'm sorry that you can't afford quality parts and shop on ebay to support the chinese economy.
I also have a turbo worth 25,000 dollars sitting in my garage, wanna bitch about that too? And I'm currently building my 2nd honda as a DD... I have my s13's and my R1 to go fast and have fun.

The last civic I built had 65,000 dollars into... just because I could.

Next stupid comment?

Some people will always try to do things the cheapest way, it might work (for awhile) but ultimately you'll be spending money down the road to upgrade and/or repair the cheaper parts that failed. I see things like this all the time with the 240 community that has turned into a bunch of broke *** high school kids trying to build competition drift cars on an ebay budget.. it simply doesn't work

This is true, but even with the parts he already had his build easily doubled his 500 dollar "budget".
Again, just because you already had those parts does not make them free... Unless he stole them but then again you have time invested and probably gas since you drove there and back lol

Mac didn't make anywhere near that off my turbo. There isn't that much of a margin in turbochargers, especially when they are custom made one-offs.

my 25k turbo

You sir... are truly a retard.

you said it, he was going to build a turbo kit for $500, for himself, so if he has parts laying around, he doesn;t have to pay for them again. he has $500 + parts he has laying around, not $500 including paying again for the parts he has laying around. I don't even need to dignify your Canada comment with a response.

teh canada comment was a joke :p
hence my missy peregrym reply lol

If he's using the parts he had before... he's still using them. so they kinda have to be considered for the financial thing. I get that he can "complete" his kit for another 500 but if he were starting from 0 then 500 dollars does not a turbo kit make

this doesn't make sense, hence my "retard" comment. he has $500 cash, wants to build a turbo kit. he has parts laying around he can use (hence he doesn't need to use any of the $500 for them), so the $500 can be used for parts he doesn't have. if he said I am trying to build a complete turbo kit from scratch with $500, your arguments would make sense. he said he has a budget, i.e. only $500 to spend Not including the parts he has laying around. I don't know why you are not able to comprehend this... probably cause you are one of those smart, humble Americans. lol

now I see what you are getting at. Its just that his first comment was what I was basing everything off of... He started and continued this thread as though he was building his whole kit for 500... he didn't come in and say anything about what he already had until page 2... and then he was all like this and that etc etc

no problem, now that you have conceded that I was right, I caan calm down. lol
I think his premise is a joke anyway, I turbo'd my old civic years ago using ssautochrome and quality components other than the main kit (tuning, gauges, injectors...etc) and still spent $2000+ by the time it was tuned, if it's a dd, it doesn't make sense to cheap out... could it be done, maybe... should it be done, absolutely not!

You idiots just don't understand... he was trying to make a "how-to" on a $500 turbo kit. This will just enable people that shoukd be more concerned about their bicycle's tire pressure. It just CAN NOT be done unless the stars are aligned just right. Lurn 2 reed y0!
