Default for the people on a budget.

Well here i am. First honda build ever!! i have owned many cars some n/a some boosted and one compound boosted car. i have been on many forums and one thing im tired of is people being flamed for trying to run a boosted DD on a budget.

So heres my project.
1994 honda accord ex f22b1 178000k on the dash
??? on motor.

$500 budget

goal: reliable boosted DD

i will be posting a parts order list and instructions. and tons of pictures. this project will be taking about 2 months due to work and school.

ok. first off. parts ideas.

turbo header: if anyone has one for sale pls pm me. i cannot find a decent
0-00-0 anywhere ha

turbo: ebay turbo (prepared for flaming) going to but a quality rebuild kit(new seals.) and rebuild this turbo before i put it on.

intercooler: ebay intercooler and piping

Bov: using my hks i have but if you didnt ebay probably has them.

gauges:
wideband: using mine. probably not budget but would recomend one
boost: ebay
oil press: ebay

down pipe: garage custom

so far found all except manifold and still well under budget. will be upoalding pics tomorrow before i start the build.

im 100% serious.
i have the money to properly build my motor and boost it.
thats not the point of this. the point is to try and make it happen.
as for fuel delivery ill tackle that bridge when it comes i have everything on that list with still about 200$ to spare.

after i build it and drive it for about a month imma pull it into the shop and actually build it. i already have 550cc injectors. a walbro pump. a phearable ecu oil lines map sensors and all that sitting in my garage waitinng to be put in. im just seeing if its possible.

also for the after project. where is a good place to find a good cam for thesemotors with a more agressive vtec?

ok well let me break it down for you, if you somehow manage to find a kit that had all the parts you need in it, your looking at about 6-700 bucks off ebay, which puts you over your budget, then you have to, and i mean HAVE to, tune the car, your looking at 500 for that, 200 for the license for the tuning program, and 200 for the chipping kit and demon to install on the ecu. The wideband you will need to adjust the air fuel to tune the car, will be about 250.

Im still not convinced that this is not a troll thread.

Goal: Reliable, turbocharged, daily driver.
Budget: $500

Does not compute. Unless you manage to get nearly everything for free.

i have turboed many many cars i know you have to tune the car. hense the phearable ecu. and we have a chrome tuner here in town plus a dyno close. im a friend of the owner so i get a tune for dirt cheap <$250. and i probably didnt mention that i have most the stuff already in my garage (aem wideband. wastegate, fuel pump, injectors, ecu. etc) ok so i guess if you dont have a garage full of shitlike i do it will be a tad bit more expesive than $500.

its not the bearings and seals... its the wheels. most of the ebay turbos are not balanced... so they destroy everything.... just tossing new bearings and seals in it won't solve the issue... you need to have it balance and by the time you do that you should of bought a name brand turbo.

OP, keep saving, because it's NOT going to happen. It can be hard enough with quality part's at the best of times let alone with cheap eGay ****... Keep the car how it is if you can't afford it...

You'll never build a turbo car, making any kind of power (200-300+whp), with $500. The only caveat MIGHT be if you have almost all of the parts already, but still, the value of the build would be well over $500. Why you would post a thread trying to convince the ignorant that they can build a turbo setup for <$500 is asinine.

That said, I've got popcorn ready, lets see what this turd looks like!

Jeeze. Kyle, you really took it to him. Anyway I agree that saying I spent $500 on this when you have most of it already is pretty dumb. I have everything in my garage to turbo my EF except a manifold and stuff to tune, and Its still going to cost me about 2k.

Tune, ecu, and wideband $1150. Seems pretty steep. Innovate wideband is 160 on amazon. I just picked a p28 outa a junkyard for 40. Hulog/ostrich is 200. 30 chipset. Frelog and free crome. Less than 450. Not saying you cant spend 1200 on that stuff. Just saying i wouldnt.

I'd rather spend the extra $200 and have neptune/demon.
