You shouldnt, your car is liquid cooled, not aircooled.
If you overheat with a painted block, you have something really badly wrong and its not the paint.

No, but it starts to look like **** after about a year in a place that has extreme variations in temperature and humidity.

Aluminum blocks shed a lot of heat and painting will significantly slow that down. However, painting the block, in and of itself, should not cause the motor to overheat if the basic cooling system is in good shape. It will only make existing problems worse.
