Default Overheating ghetto turbo D. NEED HELP

Hi everyone, im in need of some help.
2 days ago I finished putting on a 14b turbo on a DOHC Dseries (D16A9 euro ZC). the manifold was already made and we couldnt use the stock radiator fan so we bought a cheapo 12" slimfan at a local parts shop. The car ran fine the day we finished it but the next day the alternator took a dump on us and left us on the street. We bought a new one and it started fine. Going on a little hill it overheated (the needle went to the top), when I parked it water and vapor came out of the radiator. Now I dont want to take it out cause it might do it again. What could have gone wrong? we used it for a while the day we finished and the needle never went past the middle, now all of the sudden it does. thanks for the help Ill post pictures of the setup later.

read up on headgasket issues. There is a long thread about it. It plagues us boosted D-Series owners.

r u loosing coolant?? if you are, then its the head gasket like T-RO said.
and to burp the coolant, open the radiator cap (whn its cold of course), start the car and let it run till the fan comes on...u should see some air bubbles comin out..u can even squeeze the upper rad. pipe a lil now and then to get it all out...after a couple of minutes, put the cap back on, and take it for a test drive.
