Our Answer to running Coolant Lines
We have an answer to the pita process of running coolant lines on your gt series turbo.
Our kit eliminates excessively long lines and does it in a simple manner utilizing a weld bung on the radiator and a block drain fitting we fabricate to except a -6 fitting.
The kit includes:
-6 Turbo Fittings
-6 Block Drain Fitting
-6 AN Fittings (Standard two 90's, one 45, one striaght)
-6 Black Braided hose

i think this is definitely the best way to run the lines. now can we start a poll for tapping the top or bottom of the radiator? i've heard arguements for both

What about water flow. Water will only flow through the rad when the thermostat is open correct? So how is it supposed to flow through the turbo when the thermostat is closed? The rad is blocking flow till the thermo opens. Like when you bleed your coolant and you rad cap is off, the coolant does not flow till the thermo is open. . It looks killer and clean and all but is it effective???? An effective setup has coolant flowing through the turbo at all times.

What about water flow. Water will only flow through the rad when the thermostat is open correct? So how is it supposed to flow through the turbo when the thermostat is closed? The rad is blocking flow till the thermo opens. Like when you bleed your coolant and you rad cap is off, the coolant does not flow till the thermo is open. . A better solution would include constant water flow and a resevoir higher than the turbo to act as a thermosyphon when flow has stopped at engine shut down. Otherwise water will just boil away and no longer be able to do the job intended.

Isn't the turbo getting feed by the block coolant fitting from the back/front of the block and then DRAINS into the radiator? So would the thermostat even need to be "open" to have the coolant drain back into the radiator?
This is all new to me. I've always ran journal bearing turbos. So I am trying to learn some stuff.
What about running a bung at the top of the radiator to feed/drain the turbo and then one at the bottom to drain/feed

All I;m saying is that coolant does NOT flow through the rad when the thermo is closed. We can all agree on that. The coolant would have to wait for the thermo to open to allow flow. I was thinking a good place for feed would be the front drain hole and for a return go after the thermo on the housing. This ensures that coolant is flowing at all times.

When you say front drain hole, I'd assume you mean the big fitting on the front of the block. I have a d16y8 so it's on the back but same thing. I get where you're coming from. It's just I've seen A LOT OF ways to have this done LoL.
What about having a bung welded to the bottom of the radiator as a FEED source since there should always be coolant down there and then have another bung welded to the top of the radiator as a drain source? Would that work at all?
