Default OT: Problems with SLS/Straight Line Specialties?

This was posted on an IS300 forum not too long ago...I'm surprised to read stuff like this, I've always heard nothing but GREAT things from SLS. I'm sure there's more to the story, but here's one side of it:

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by IS300 owner, username RAVEN &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Update..Update.... There is no update at all. Nothing zip. Its funny how things turn out. Lets say what goes around comes around 10 fold.. But life is just a learing exspernce. We live and learn and move on. But thats what I have to tell myself. If I dont I would be in jail. No fucken joke. And I thank God they live far from me. Its all good I guess........................
LETS JUST SAY I DONT HAVE **** FROM THEM. ITS BEEN A YEAR SINCE I STARTED ORDERING EVERYTHING FROM HIM. NOW A YEAR LATER AND ALL HE MADE FOR ME WAS THE INTAKE AND THE INTERCOOLER. I ORDERED INTAKE MANI EXHAUST MANI IC, IC PIPING 4"DOWN PIPE 4" EXHAUST
AND ONE YEAR LATER I SILL DONT HAVE ****. "MIKE-NICK" SAID THEY SENT ME MY INTAKE OUT. THEY STILL HAVE TO MAKE MY IC WITCH THEY SAID WAS DONE 8 MONTHS AGO. THEY FUCKED ME DRY. HERE IS SOME **** I SAID ABOUT THEM AND MESSAGE THAT PEOPLE HAVE SENT ME AN EMAILS FROM NICK.

ENJOY

Damn, it seems like they're backlogged lately. But I would be interested to hear their side of the story on the EVO and IS300 setups they sold.

all the sls manifolds ive seen in person require serious modifications to make work. ive seen 2 of them where the hood had to be cut and part of the compressor housing stuck out the hood and another one that i had to cut off the wastegate flange and completely redo it all.

mine fit alright. the only thing was my ic sat like 2 inches below the front bumper. They were a little hard to get a hold of. other than that i guess i can't complain. but now i have a built 2 liter block, and looked at the clearance for my little gt2871r and it looks mighty damn close to the block already. i don't know if there is enough room to jam a 30r in there?

i have heard of a few fitment issues with the Evo manifolds....GT30r vs GT35r.....the manifold fits the 30, but not the 35r which makes upgrading a bitch...

I've had a couple people email and pm me in regards to quality issues on some of their manifolds as well. Kind of strange all of this is starting to surface. Sounds like they have management issues.

Default Quality ??

I know SLS Pretty well. I know Nick got slammed and it was just him at the shop making for him to be there about 24/7 and tough to get a hold of. Now he has expanded and has 3 good guys working in the shop. The phone is now always answered during business hours unless something very important is going on and if that doest work Emails are ALWAYS answered if sent to the shop email.

As for Quality. I have known of 3 manifolds ever having an issue and that is out of a large quantity. And they all have a life time warranty. Send them in or send us a bill for repairs local if you trust the welder. Send us pics done deal.

Yes I do work for SLS. But I am not SLS. I am an employee and do my best to take care of customers and orders.

hummm, well I just ordered a ram horn with dumptube and downpipe deal from them so i'm hoping this all isn't true. I ordered a few weeks ago they admitted to being backed up which is resonable because of all the cars they cover. they have responded to all my e-mails and tell me it all should be done sometime this coming up week and shipped. I'm hoping of course it is because all these items are the last on my list to get and i'll be done. If not wow I couldn't imagine how furious I will be and how hard I will fight them. But as of now I trust them, only time will tell.

i would never order from them again.. i ordered my mani/dp/and dump tube from them.. said it was shipped but yet never came did that for about 2 months then finally one day i got it.. ordered intercooler piping and bov.. i believe jan 15 2007.. they told me it was mailed.. it never came i called them.. they said it was mailed they just needed my adress again.. it never came..
I called again. they said it was still in the works of being made.. said it would be out at the end of the week.. my package was sent they said everyting was shipped. the package came and all that was in it was the bov. no piping.. so i dicked with them for another month.. and jus tlats week got my refund for the piping..
