Hmm, someone is quite obviously pissed that you are taking their bandwidth. That is just sick as ****. PS> Leeching is part of hosting. If you're going to host something high-demand, you better have the bandwidth to support it. If you host something high-demand, 99.9% you will get leeched hard.

Must have a pretty shitty server to exceed your bandwidth limit from two .jpg's.

Sick as ****? Yes.

Deserved it? **** yes.

Bandwidth is not free. Steal it and pay the penalties. A little quick work makes sure your leeches think twice next time...

Or you could grow a brain and just put in anti-hotlinking code into your .htaccess. Try something like:

Options +FollowSymlinks
RewriteEngine on
RewriteBase /
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^$
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !.yourdomain.com.* [NC]
RewriteRule .*\.(gif|jpg|mpg|avi) - [NC,F]

Much more elegant than switching the contents of a file

Heh, good point. But the bandwidth is still being stolen, except now the .jpg is a lot larger. If you don't want your bandwidth stolen, switch the filename -- don't n00bify urself and put up a larger file in its place.
