Default Open Track Events

On days where a motor is pushed really hard, as in being mostly WOT, is it better to have a supercharger then a turbo? Or does it not matter? I want to go FI, either Turbo or Super, but I need to be able to stand track events (autox, open track, drag) Some will say, well if you are going to autox, you will want power in low end too, well, I'm not so much concerned about making fast times, more keeping my car on the road. What do you guys think?

drag and autox aren't a big deal since you're not really boosting for extended periods of time, road events is where you're gonna have the most trouble. If you're serious about road events or autox, youre probably better off with a JR supercharger (bring on the flames...)

with turbo i would be worried about oil temps, i wouldn't even consider running a road course without a good oil cooler

water temp will also be a concern when boosting for extended periods of time

i haven't heard of anyone running many road events with a turbo honda, but i'd really like to hear from anyone who has

For drag racing you really dont have to worry, any FI will be ok (turbo imho) because you only do a short run at a time then you have to go around the track get lined up again so you're not at WOT for very long and you still get to shift. Even auto x you're not at wot for long periods at a time but like Cyrio said there is more to worry about when running turbo for the auto x. I agree a supercharger would be better for auto x especially when coming around those hair pin turns and you gotta accelerate out of them fast you dont want to have to wait for your turbo to spool before you can get going again. Definately water injection is the way to go w/ sc on an auto x though. Also a vented hood would help a lot to let all the heat generated out. Ideal for auto x is all motor. Tony the tiger is pushing a 219whp b18c which would be an auto x monster. General rule of thumb is with FI you never wanna be at WOT longer than 15 seconds at a time.

On this general rule, of WOT for 15 secs... does that apply to superchargers as well?
