Default Open Down pipe muffler?

I definitely don't want to run a full exhaust but the open down pipe is pretty loud. Anyone ever put a bullet style muffler with a turn down on the end of their down pipe? This car isnt a driver. It sees the occasional car show and track event and thats pretty much it.

Another benefit would be that the muffler will extend the length of my downpipe putting the wideband further away from the exit. Hopefully it doesnt sound like @ss.

thinking of doing the same on my car. i had a similar setup on a stock gsr swapped car and it sounded terrible, ended up going with a full 2.5 exhaust. that being said, turbo cars sound totally different, so it might sound ok

Will still be loud but a straight through muffler with surrounding sound deadening/baffles would have no impact on performance.

On my next project I’m planning a bumper exit exhaust. At least with it exiting out the bumper the sound won’t be resonating off the underside of the car, so hopefully it’s a bit quieter. I might also make it 3” aluminum too (because racecar lol).

It's not like you'd have much material to replace either when the aluminum eventually deteriorates. I'd say go for it lol.
