Default OMG.. Help before I go insane..

Ok.. well I have a 00 boosted Si with a built b16 and all that crap. Anyways, I was having this problem where the speedo stopped working and the alternator fuse kept blowing and on some advice from here I isolated the problem to the secondary o2 sensor. I unplugged the sensor and now the fuse doesn't blow and the speedo works all the time. Now I have a new problem. First of all the car doesn't want to go over about 5500 rpms and if I get on the gas at all, it just sputters and won't accelerate. It also will not build any boost whatsoever. I know its not a piping leak because it doesn't have that whistling noise that it makes when a pipe is off. The turbo is good (checked endplay etc) and doesn't blow any smoke at all. Any help would be awesome since this is basically the last straw before I part the POS out and move onto v8 muscle. Thanks in advance!

eh, '00 Si with a B16. that means you're obdII, no? call me weird, but i'd assume you need that second o2 sensor plugged in to make the car run properly. that's probably why you can go past 5500 rpm. I'm surprised you haven't thrown a CEL since you've unplugged it.

Not sure about the speedo thing and the fuses blowing, though. Maybe you need to replace the sensor?

the fuses don't blow any more.. and I have run the car without a second o2 sensor before with no problems. It of course does throw a CEL for the missing o2 sensor.

I'll tell you right now that your electronics are messed up. This was and still is happening to my buddy's 96 coupe(with b16a)...He blows alreanetor fuses like crazy. Nothing has come up even after troubleshooting pretty much teh whole elelctrical system on teh damn car. I will tell you right now that following every damn wire looking for a short or grounded wire is not fun. HIs car was converted to OBD1 though.

Sorry I could help you, just had to let you know that you're not alone.

Its the stock ecu with a v-afc piggyback setup. No hondata yet Any other clues? I'm about to have to take it to a shop and spend way more money then is probably comfortable to get this diagnosed and then I'm pulling the motor and putting the stock one back in. This car is making my hair fall out.

if fuses are blowing, then you have an electrical short somewhere.

i had the same exact problem and heres how i fixed it.... i had a short on the secondary o2 sensor and it kept blowing the alternator fuse and my speedo wont work. i took the o2 sensor out and looked at it and it had a cut in the insulator and was grounding on to the car. taped it up with some eclectrical tape and never did it again.... about the sputtering its the secondary o2 sensor. You NEED IT..
