Default ok to run just a btm for now?

my friend just bought all the components for a junkyard turbo kit. he has no fuel management. was wondering if it's ok to run a 6btm for now for fuel management. he has DSM 450's right now, waiting to get a VAFC later to tune. so what do you guys think?

his setup: d151b7(DX), 7-8lbs on a td04, internal wg, greddy type-s bov, DSM side mount intercooler, hf mani, missing link.

how is he suppose to support the 450 injectors with no fuel management. I woudl tell your friend to not even worry about the hack and get ubderdata. If he does use the btm anyway, all I can say is good bye engine.

my bad, should've made it more clear. he's not going to run the 450's till he gets a VAFC to control them. he has no fuel management except for a 6btm. so no go on just a 6btm for fuel management for now?

and no, he can't afford a hondata, AEM or Uberdata right now.

so hes using the 240 injectors. i guess he hates his motor huh? and by the way uberdata cost 10 dollars in parts so buy a bag of midis instead of hydro and you got enough money for uberdata

uberdata cost more than $10, to get everything chipped look at like $25, including all the solder stuff, burner is like $50-100. Right there you are already over $75-100. Then a wideband.

an msd 6btm controlls spark timing and mutltiple spark discharging of the igntition spark. it doenst controll anything that has to do with fuel what so ever really. so the answer is no he can't run a btm for fuel management. that would make no sense.

My car ran like **** on the AFC/BTM setup. Now Im running Turboedit, and kicking myself for spending money on those things, and wasting my time installing them.

I'd say its ok,
IF !!
he's just going to drive it to and from to get where he needs to go, and he's not STUPID enough to floor it and boost it through the gears.

I dont know how old you guys are, but if you're in your teens, I really dont believe he'll be able to resist.

would be much much wiser to just wait.
Yes the b7 is a cheap motor, but its NOT GOING TO BE ANY FUN to have to rip it out and put in a new one just because of impatience!

haha...I'm not a teen...haven't been for about 5 years... I'll just have him wait. he's had the setup for awhile now, he can wait a lil bit longer.
