heres the dela i have a b16 just swapped everything in etc.
i go to crank the car. its like the motor wants to turn over but it wont do it.
changed the plugs. wires are new.
this is how the wires are from pass. side.

you can hear a strong effort by the starter so i dont think its that. then afterwards
you see black spoke coming from exhaust. i can hear my fuel pump working and fuel pressure is normal it just wont kick over. suggestions?

The only thing I can tell you is that if you are looking at the distributor from the passenger side, the wires should be like this..

If they are in the incorrect order, the car will not start. Looks to be the prob.

 

you are counting cyl #1 from driverside and #4 on the pass side, right?

this is what i have rechecked it and it still wont start

 

i just pulled the plugs.
smeels like fuel and black residue. black residue comes off but the nice shiny electrode is now a tainted color.
