oil pressure gauge
hey, i just got my gauges and im in the dark about installing the oil pressure gauge, its the electrical gauge from autometer, and it included a sender thing thats the size of the actual gauge. from what i've collected, im supposed to get a t fitting and screw that into where the oil pressure switch is on the block and then then run the sender into the T and also the oil pressure switch to the T also? is this correct? i have also heard if i hook up the stuff directly to the block, it will eventuly break or fall off because of the vibrations, so i should run a loop to the fire wall and mount it there. now, what plumbing do i need to get? i don tknow anything about the hardware, i always see #'s like 4an and bsp or stuff like that. can anyone tell me some part #s of the hardware i need to get so i can hook the gauge up? also do i just simple find a spot on the fire wall and mount it? what would be a good way to mount the sender to the wall? im thinking of getting some c clamps like the ones domestics use to do their exhaust piping. and drill holes in the wall and bolt it down, i know that i would have to take off the dash but thats no bigge since i need to take it off anyway. also wheres a good ground where i can ground the gauge too? it says it needs to be on the engine, soo yeah. i think i know what im doin. but if people can supply me w. some part numbers to the peices i need to get so i dont go to the hardware store w/ my finger up my butt, thanks
