Default Oil pan blues...

I'm installing my turbo but can't seem to get the oil pan off. 95 civic. I removed both braces and all bolts the entire way around the oil pan have been removed(the 2 behind the black cover too). I have pounded the front and back side, pryed a bit around the edges as well as put the drain plug back in and hammered down on that. Any of you guys have problems removing yours? The pressure seems to be at the left and right side around the U's. The front and back side move when prying... Thanks.

I tried for another 15 minutes and it still won't come off unless I pry the crap out of it and bend up the outer small flange of the pan.
The ring around the oil pan, under the nuts and bolts is what is holding the pan on. There are dimples in that ring and that's where it's not coming off. I've loosened it a little by prying but still not near coming off. I don't want to dent stuff up, but I might have to?? Thanks for any help you can give as it's really slowing things up.. Oh and it's a D16Z6. Again, all bolts have been removed.

so the gasket is what is holding it on? you might have to rip the gasket off and buy another from Honda. It might be is that yours is old, and really glued on.

Yeah, I'd say just rip it off, if all the bolts are off for sure. And just use the red silicone gasket or buy a new one. Good luck.

The gasket isn't holding it on. It's a metal "ring" that goes the whole way around the pan. I have a brand new gasket, it's just waiting to be put on

I finally got it. Didn't realize that ring is part of the pan... lol. I took a screwdriver and drove it in between the gasket and oil pan from the driver side wheel well and that knocked it loose! I'm happy

Hehehe, yea really. I bolted up up the flange and hope the nuts never loosen on the inside. Should have had it welded but.. I used red locktite and mushroomed the threads sticking out. The gasket was a major PITA to remove. all glued down to the oil pan. Sure hope my car runs when I'm done with the install

falconGSR, it was just that the oil pan was on good and didn't come off by tapping it so I had to pry it off..
