Default Oil Consumption on Boost?

I just finished my catch can setup on the Civic and so far so good. Before the can I had went through up to 1 quart of oil in about 300 miles or so. With the can installed I have used around 1/10th of a quart in 300 miles -- meaning I should use a quart in about 3000 miles or so.

How does this compare to what you guys are seeing? Sounds pretty reasonable to me, but I am just wondering what everyone else uses on their boosted setup

----

I'm pretty excited to have the consumption down so much... I did not want to tear down the engine if I didn't have to. I've got 500cc injectors, ignition hardness for my e-manage, a 2.5" Down-Pipe, and perhaps even an intercooler coming in before I get my car re-tuned!

I'm hoping to see 150 - 175 WHP or so out of my setup. I saw ~115 WHP / ~120 Torque on the dyno with stock injectors, factory exhaust, no ingnition sub-harness, and no catch can setup. These numbers were seen at under 5k rpm since my factory injectors go static above that point... so I think I'm being realistic

Can you explain why you're losing less oil with a catch can setup? If the motor burns oil, then it'll still burn oil with a catch can connected.

Before the can I had a totally stock PCV system which, by my understanding, can cause oil to get pushed through the rings and burnt.

the stock pcv system "sucks" oil vapors from the engine, and re-circulates it into the intake, which makes its way to the cyl, and is ecentialy burned during the combustion cycle.

Right... I know what it is supposed to do in a normal car. Under boost the PCV valve can become closed, correct? This causes a pressure buildup and oil can go through the rings. That is unless I have been mislead by what I have read about crank case ventilation on boost.

if your motor is **** you might be getting oil on you cyl's or you might just blow oil out the breather & not get it in the cyl's.

Either way... oil consumption dropped dramatically after I ventilated the crank case properly. Car runs better overall and smoke is very little now.
