Oil Catch Can /PCV Install Question
Bought the universal oil Catch can. Setup is in signature.
1)Is there anyway to hook up the 2nd port of the crankcase to tie into the line going to the input port of then Catch can? Basically the PCV Valve line and the 2nd port near the intake would both go into the one side of the catch can.
I bought a T and tried to install it into the same line however after installing i got loud screaching or taps from valve cover. Unistalled and it went away.
2) I modified the PCV and removed the inside of it, Should i use the OEM PCV Valve with the catch can or modified PCV straight through no restriction design?

Picture 1 is for the first question
Picture 2 is for the 2nd question, Does it hurt anything gutting the pcv valve out wouldnt it move more pressure out of the Valve Cover?

Re: Oil Catch Can /PCV Install Question
where are those hoses from your VC going? it looks like one goes to a sealed catch can? if that is the case, where does that blue hose go?
where does the other hose/steel tube go to?
as for gutting your PCV valve... it depends how you have your catch can setup. leaving it in tact should stop boost from entering your block, but that is when you need the vac on the block the most. the pressure from boost will close the pcv valve. factory turbo cars use a pcv valve but have an alternative vac source (pre turbo slash) that will help pull vac on the block when the charge piping is pressurized.
it really depends how you have your can setup.

Re: Oil Catch Can /PCV Install Question
thanks for the reply guys, right now the steel braided Air hose connect PCV VALVE to INPUT of CATCH CAN. The BLUE hose connects from OUTPUT of CATCH CAN to INTAKE MANIFOLD.
The 2nd Port on the Valvecover to the left is connected to nothin OPEN air. But want to connect to the Steel Braided Hose Line going to Input of Catch Can.

Re: Oil Catch Can /PCV Install Question
i was advised today by someone to keep the stock PCV valve on and not the gutted out one or it will pressurize the block if i use the gutted one. Sound right?

Re: Oil Catch Can /PCV Install Question
im a bit confused on how you have the can setup now. what does the can even look like? is it sealed or does it have a filter on top? if its sealed then you really arent doing much to relieve crancase pressure unless you are doing a slash-cut intake or exhaust method to pull pressure out.
i think you should just do 2 lines off the valve cover to the can with a filter on top, remove the stock pcv system entirely. simple and effective

Re: Oil Catch Can /PCV Install Question
sounds right, but the stock honda PCV valve will also leak under boost. your best bet is to gut the honda PCV valve and get a valve from a turbo DSM. It is an in-line metal valve that will not leak under boost.

Re: Oil Catch Can /PCV Install Question
what have you done at the back of the block??
what you have going on right now will work alright. but it will introduce some oil vapor into your charge, which is not ideal in a high output setup.
best bet is to open vent, or run a slash cut into your exhaust.
FYI; these threads always turn out like **** because everyone and their mom has their own way of installing a catch can. just a heads up.

ae you refeing to this http://www.dsmparts.com/customer/pro...&cat=87&page=1 ?
no, what you have there is an oil restrictor for the turbo feed line...
this is exactly what you need...

Re: Oil Catch Can /PCV Install Question
If you run it like the ms paint pic that is above, you will not be doing anything at all. If its a sealed catch can its dumb!!
Cap the port on your intake mani, Run your 2 ports off of your vc to a vented catch can and it would be better. But if it had a drain back to the oilpan, or the box on the back of your block, it would be best!

Re: Oil Catch Can /PCV Install Question
I run my PCV valve and the port on my valve cover strait to a catch can with a filter. Works good for me. I get more water(condensation) than anything. Even with 230K and 12psi on my b16. I would def. cap the intake manifold port and not run it to the can.

Re: Oil Catch Can /PCV Install Question
you cannot run a vacuum line to the catch can. when you go into boost you are pressurizing the can. as stated above, this setup is not doing anything to relieve crankcase pressure

Re: Oil Catch Can /PCV Install Question
your setup right now is actually doing the opposite of what you want it to do. you're pressurizing the crankcase under boost.
