if b series go type R pump, I have flow numbers versus GSR and LS pumps to prove. may also want to consider Pro drive ( or other company) oil pump gear.

B18B.
Type R pump.

On waterpump gear is diff. from the LS Gears?
If I do go with the GS-R pump, which Timing belts do I use?

it all depends on the water pump. Oil pump are the same since you can use your existing oil pump sprocket. If you are keeping your LS water pump, stick with LS timing belt, if you;re going with GS-R water pump, then go with GS-R belt.

that do you mean have flow numbers versus GSR isn't the type r and gsr the same. At lest when i went to get my new oil pump i asked for a type r and they didn't have it so he looked up a gsr and it was the same part number.

I heard stock oil pump gear sometime tend to break at high rpm or high power boosted motors ? is that true? I was consider using a ITR oil pump with the itr oil pump gear. I was wondering how much power can stock oil pump gear hold up ?

So if I changed my waterpump to GSR, then I could use an GSR timing belt?
Some says that GSR are a little longer then LS timing belts?
mixed answers.

The GSR and ITR timing belts are slightly longer than the LS/B20 timing belts. The Vtec water pumps have a larger OD drive gear to slow down the impeller speeds and high engine rpm.
Match the timing belt to the water pump used.

So that slightly excess wouldn't cause any problems?

if you use the timing belt in correspondence to the water pump, then there's shouldn't be any excess after the tensioner tightenes it.

Just my $.02 get and gsr/type r oil pump and send it to endyn. It's expensive but they bore it out and change the flow passages so you get better/more flow. I did that and it looks very nice. Cost for the work is 135.00.

sorry my original post was poorly worded - R and GSR same versus LS as follows:
oil pump B18C1/C5 flow 71L /minute @ 7600rpm
B18A/B flow 50L/minute @ 6000rpm

water pump B18C1/C5 flow 140L /minute @ 7600rpm
B18A/B flow 140L/minute @ 6000rpm

hope that is clearer
