here is one...you CANT put the turbo on the other way or you would just have to chop a different section out. OBX TOP MOUNT.

You should be on point no matter what the topic is bro, any how in the manifolds defense i highly doubt that manifold was designed for what ever strange turbo is on there...

My friends T4 flanged Garrett GT35r fits on his OBX topmount with the compressor facing the driver side the way its supposed to with no issues, it actually looks and performs great!!

im being pretty on point with the topic, that turbo is not a big turbo but still running into problems. Strange turbo or not its still a standard t4 turbo, wtf?

t3 vs t4 they are shaped the same. Still turbos

This is an OBX manifold, this thread is about an OBX top mount manifold. How am i not on point with the topic. They are not consistent or they are garbage take your pick. Dont sit around and defend yourself because you happen to have one that works and others fit like crap.

Thats not what i meant when i said stay on point, you said:

"well my ****ing bad i didnt pay enough attention to the garbage to realize what size flange was on it"

That made it seem like your saying you didn't care enough about the topic to check what flange it was, but what ever thats not the issue.

I don't have an OBX top mount so lets just get that out of the way right now. Second all t3 and t4 turbo's are NOT all shaped the same, why do you think manifold companies will say something like "this manifold only works with 4 bolt discharge and NOT 5 bolt discharge"? Different turbine housings have a HUGE effect on how the turbo sits, try and put a 4 bolt turbo on an a/c friendly cast manifold with the compressor on the passenger side and tell me how it works out.

See my point here? All i'm saying is its not right to attack ANYONES manifold when we don't even know what turbo is on it.

Re: OBX Top mount? Anyone ever run this or try it?

He was stating that the majority of the t3/t4 turbos and the t4 turbos are not that far off in size and how they sit on the manifold. I am sure the difference in a t3/t04e and a sc61 or a t67 are that much different ( 2 of the 3 come in t4 turbine housings), certainly not enough difference. The only difference in size is possibly the compressor housing depending on what trim you bought or the outer diameter of the turbine housing (which isnt going to be larger than the compressor). A lot of T4 turbos are still small frame, its obvious that he isnt comparing a small frame to a large frame like a 42R or S372. The Turblownetics T72 is the same size as an sc61 or t67, both of which are considerably "smaller" than the 72. As far as the difference in turbine housings being different, unless its an "on center" housing, there usually isnt enough of a difference between companies for there to be fitment issues. I would also imagine that the placement of the outlet on the turbine housing on a 5 bolt flange and a 4 bolt is probably the same or very close, it wouldnt make sense for one to be offset from another. I have installed a 4 bolt housing on a ac car with a tig welded log manifold made by VP fab, I do not recall any issues with the turbo or downpipe clearing the ac or the power steering on the car.

This information is just what I have gather from product that I have delt with. I have not touched anything with chinapower written on it. I cannot say anything about it other than what I have seen of a OBX top mount on the green car posted above, and I have looked @ the car in person.

I find it amusing how honda-tech generally balks at anything obx but when this item got put up for discussion people are all out there making a big argument about it, we have seen an example in person and it isn't pretty. You might have to get the jaws of life out to make it fit or you might not. So that is a problem.

i think fitment is fine its just a matter of will it hold up over time.

Oh its far from perfect and truth be told i can't see anything larger than a 35r going on there, we tried to test fit a Genuine 4094r on there for shits and giggles and hell effing no it would never fit, the 35r is already right up against the cylinder head. This manifold really is just for the bling factor, i wont deny that because any top mount that does not allow you to fit something like a 40r or 42r is wrong.
