Yes, but that is STILL an OBD1 system. Its just basically with an integrated conversion harness to remove some of the hassle...
The reason people have little patience is because there are 100 people that don't have a clue for every 1 that does. I can tell you don't know much about engines, suspension or mechanics in general. That's fine. We all start somewhere and I do like your enthusiasm. I read all the other posts you made on this forum and people are being very nice to you. You read articles and are pretty good at gleaning information, but you don't see the big picture and quickly try to come to your own conclusion based on the one or two things you read on a particular subject (the vtec sohc vs dohc thing, the suspension stuff you just posted, no way 500whp/33mpg, etc..). Take all the info you read with a grain of salt. Figure out what you think might be the correct way for you and then go DO it. I used to read a lot and I learned a lot doing that. But you really don't get it until you DO and feel it. I have been making a living modifying cars for almost ten years and I still learn something new every day. Stay enthusiastic and stop regurgitating information you cant back up with experience and real facts. There are more than a few people that know their **** on here, especially the FI forum, so ask good questions

and the sad thing is, that if i know nothing about mechanics... im in trouble.
im ase certified...
pretty much in a nutshell OBD2 just has an extra O2 sensor to keep emissions lower. i dont see why the OP would run into problem with the S300 pinned for OBD2 but using OBD1 software. the car is still being tuned which is what matters.

OP: Own the car. Leave the suspension stock because it's probably better than the Ebay garbage you bought. Save money. While you save, learn. Hopefully by the time you are done learning, you've come to the conclusion that you should spend your money on something more important than a Honda Civic.
why is it they can tune so many other obdII cars perfectly but not honda?????
my cobra mustang was dyno tuned after bolt ons and supercharger pulley, just for example.
you'd think they'd be able to tune a honda by now. just factory computer wont allow it?

i've been waiting for the same thing, but it hasnt showed up. it'd be nice to plug in a handheld computer into the OBD2 socket, and tune it like so many other obd2 cars.
BUT
i'll tell you why it wont happen , ever, for an obd2 honda.
HONDAS ARE CHEAP. honda OWNERS are cheapasses. the cars are GENERALLY swapped to a completely different engine (unlike a cobra, etc)
companies arent going to invest thousands of dollars and hundreds of man hours into making a tunable OBD2 honda ecu, car specific, because they will only sell a few hundred. EVERYBODY already simply plugs in a 80$ (or whatever) jumper harness, plugs in some easily tunable obd1 computer, and tunes with easy proven 100% functional software.
there is your answer. you have a (into the grand scheme of things) cheap crappy car. we all do. and we all love them. thats why we have them. use the cheap simple software, get great mileage, and make big power
No... Your short shifter is going to make the synchros work quicker and harder. If its not going to then why are you even wasting your time installing it and buying it? The whole idea of a shorter shift is to shift faster, isn't it? Why else would you want to decrease the amount of throw? Now if you are shifting faster, then isn't your transmission also having to work faster/harder? It only makes sense man... Does that mean its GOING to thrash the tranny every time? I would say no... but the increase in stress on something that most likely have 50,000+ miles can't be a good thing. I can't see the "benefits" of a shorter throw really adding up to anything in a race anyways. There is one shifter out there that actually seems to make some sense... I can't recall the name of it. Its long and tall and looks funnier then hell, but the theroy actually makes sense.

not exactly. cobra ecu's, wrx ecu's, etc etc are flashable. obd2 civic and integra ecu's are NOT.
Yep. And its the only aftermarket shifter I would even consider putting in my car.
You're an idiot.

oh its really nice, friend has his installed already, mine is still in the box, looks a little odd, but hey how many hondas dont look odd, i mean with big airplane wings, overly exaggerated body kits, whats one odd looking but FUNCTIONAL shifter right?
YOU BROKE your own fork, dont blame the shifter. i got mine 3 years ago in a group buy for $75 and its still going strong.
i didnt say it broke my fork.
it didnt help me NOT break it though.
sheesh.
it was an old D trans (aluminum fork), not a burly B. lot of leverage there though, and if you miss a gear and push keep pushing, your putting a LOT of force on it.
great shifter though, for feel . i loved it on the couple of track days i did with it...but wont have it in anymore. made a LOT of money on it when i sold it. i wouldnt NOT recomend it for drag cars though
