Default OBD II IAT senor?

My friend has a 98 LS engine in his civic with an OBD 1 wiring harness and PO6 ecu (s100 w/boost). He's getting code 10 right now which is IAT. My question is, does he need an OBD 1 IAT sensor? Or can he just put the OBDII sensor in the charge pipe? He's had this code for awhile, however we just installed the hondata, bigger injectors, and gm 3 bar map sensor. We want to get rid of the check engine light before he takes it to get tuned. Thanks

funny you posted this because I just did the same thing kind of. I ended up taking a rubber grommet from a AEM intake and drilling a 5/8" hole in my charge pipe and stuck the grommet in the hole, then stuck the IAT in, and used silicon sealant. works great, tested to 14.4 psi and it didnt blow out, I am still pulling 18 to 20 inches of vacuum at idle too.

I see that you have a 2000 Civic Si (OBD II). Since you running a hondata you converted over to obd 1, right? Did you use the OBD II sensor or did you have to get an OBD I IAT sensor?

I kinda have the same issue:

00 Si - OBD2 going OBD1 with Hondata S200b.

Since I bought the JG intake manifold I got an Acura GSR IAT Sensor b.c it has a hole in the intake manifold. I also had to get a wiring harness clip because b/c the stock Si one wouldnt fit the GSR sensor. I was wondering on How I wire these up, they are both 2 wires, I don't want to get them mixed up, anyone have a suggestion?
