Default OBD-2 to OBD1 conversion

ok, im doing the conversion and I am getting the harness already. What I am confused about is the ecu. I see lots of OBD1 prelude, gsr and si ecu's for sale. Can I only use the gsr one or will a civic one work? Whats best to use?
