O2 Sensor code driving me nuts
Hey guys.
I have a CEL that just won't go away. I have my O2 Sensor plumbed into the downpipe right after the turbo (relatively close to the stock location that a DSM would have theirs). I've checked the continuity of my circuit from the O2 connector to the ECU connector and all is good.
I bought a 4 wire universal NTK O2 and wired it in the following way: The signal wire Goes to the white wire on the ECU connector, the 2 black go to ground the the 4th wire goes to switched power. (sorry, I can't remember the colors)
After starting the car, I see no voltage from the sensor (I probed the ECU connector). I see on my A/F meter that it just sits in the last red led. After a while it will throw a code. Upon driving it (to heat it up further) it will start to register on the A/F. The thing is, it only reacts as I accelerate. Once I am cruising at a steady state it drops back to the last red Led. Blip the throttle and the display lights up to stoich.
Continuity looks good. I think I wired it up right. The location should be good enuf to heat it up to correct operating temerature. What else could it be? I'm stumped. Has anyone had any problems like this before?
Any info/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Bee.
BTW: Its a B18A with a Zdyne ecu (but the same thing occured with the stock ecu) in a 88 DX hatch.

Just a thought, those are heated o2 sensors correct. I know they wont work right unless they are heated up to a specific temp. maybe your heater circuit is bad and it heats up to the correct temp when you drive the car, but it cools back down at idle or under light load?? I dont know, just trying to throw you a bone.
Well, I didn't switch out the O2 but I did upload another map. It was Speed Phreaks old program (before he did the hondata -> zdyne conversion) My engine seemed to like it better.
The CEL still comes on. I noticed that the A/F guage reacts only past 3k rpm. Is it possible that it is still not hot enuf?
