Default o2 Sensor?

Can i use a regular o2 sensor to wire directly to my A/F guage? I dont want to tap the o2 sensor on the car because I already have it tapped for my halmeter. I want to add another o2 sensor for my EFI fuel injector monitor which also has a A/f meter on it. I was gonna use a regular o2 sensor i had laying around and run the single wire to my guage but a friend of mine said it wont work. I would need a wide band o2 sensor. Is this true or not? Also where can I get a wide band o2 sensor if I have to?

If I were you, I'd pick up the Greddy A/F. It comes with its own sensor and its one of the closest things you'll get next to wideband.

OEM 02 are narrow band and is not very useful for tuning.
Use the Greddy for a substitute or purchase a true wideband 02 ($170+) and display.
