Ok, so im am going to be installing dsm 450s and converting from obd2a to obd1. I have a chipped ecu with base map. I also have a plx that im planning on using. My question is this... when i do the conversion from obd2 to obd1, which o2 sensor is diabled? The one closer to the front of the car, or the one closer to the rear of the car? If hook up a plxm300 to the 2nd stock o2 location, will my o2 readings be messed up? how inaccurate will they be? Since this setup is gonna be temp until i install my turbo, i don't want to get a bung welded onto my sock piping or run in open look 24/7.

Also, putting a wideband after the cat will usually throw off the readings.

 

well if thats the case, can i un hook the o2 sensor thats before the cat and use that one while leaving the 2nd o2 sensor alone? after the obd2-obd1 conversion, whicn o2 sensor is used?

 

Using the M300, install the sensor in the primary bung close to the engine, and then use the narrow-band signal from the M300 to feed the sensor input in to the stock ECU.

No need for extra bung with the M300, just a bit of wiring.

Exactly...if you have a good wideband these days with outputs, no need to even use a stock O2. Sell it on Ebay for some coin

man, im sooo tired of searching. Anyway, this is what i have found so far. wire d14(white wire) is for 02 sensor. Do i splice my grey plx m300 wire into this one? Where do i hook up the white wideband wire?

 

the 2nd 02 sensor is just to monitor the cat to make sure its working properly

Exactly OBD-1 uses the one before the cat only. If you hook up the PLX you replace that one with the PLX o2. The second o2 does not need to be used for obd-1.

 

yes, i know this. but i now need to know what wires to cut and splice on my ECU so i can replace the stock o2 with my plx's o2. i have a white and a grey wire coming from my plx. where do they connect to on my ecu's harness?

Damn bra, didn’t your **** come with instructions? Gray is narrow band white is wideband, if your running a stock ecu run the gray if your tuning with crome or something like that disable the o2 and run the white.

 

no, no instructions, i bought it used. Im using a chipped ecu with an LS-t base map for 450cc injectors. My ostrich isn't hooked up yet. if i unhook my stock o2 and replace it with the plx 02 and tap the grey whire into d14 will this be ok. Keep in mind that the ecu is flased with crome, but the o2 sensor has not been diabled. Until i can get my ostrich hooked up, im gonna have to run everything through the stock ecu.

 

Ok I’m lost. You are running a stock ecu? Or you are running a crome chipped ecu? I think your saying you are running a chipped ecu. Can you burn chips yourself? Have you bought your copy of crome pro yet? I would highly recommend it, the best $150 I have spent. If you have a base map that does not have the o2 disabled then run the gray wire. If your using a stock ecu run the gray wire. If you have crome pro and plan on data logging then run the white wire and tune away.

your not going to be using both wires at the same time. only one is used. closed loop will need grey wire. open loop tuning with ecu datalogging will need white wire
