keep it simple. fine some one with an inspection sticker scan edit.

know kids who have not got an official inspect sine 2002.
the new ones are easy since its only a pounch out for the month it expires

the obd test for the state inspection in ny. i think its only gonna read any codes coming off the ecu and check all the parameters in the ecu make sure the car is running clean. i think. if i was you id go like a week before yoru sticker expires to see if u pass or fail. u might get lucky. and if u do fail youll know what u fail for and youll have time to fix it. i live in long island so we still using the dynos. we havent gotten the new style inspection machines. good luck to u and let me know how that works out im curious to know how the machine works

I really hate holding people's hands, but here is how you'd do it in CT:

Scroll down to "What is a waiver" and be prepared to read some law books.

I heard the same thing as well. The state hasn't even decided what company to get the machine from. Also, I know a lot of local shop owners who said they'll just stop doing inspections because they don't want to purchase the equipment.
I'm in a similar situation. I have a 98 Coupe and I'm running an AEM EMS, so I won't be able to pass emissions with the car as it is now either. I've been thinking of running the stock ECU in parallel with the EMS. My friend did something similar on his Eclipse with an Electromotive TEC3 and the stock ECU to run his automatic transmission.

thats what i thought but sure enough they keep sending them to be renewed. long as u don't get tickets they can't prove that you were operating the car on the road.
think imma get mine inspected this summer.
how do you get it passed since im running an open dump tube??
slip him a couple of extra 20 bills when i pay?

actually they do,they test the gas cap and they "suppose" to do a visual check of the emission stuff on the car like the converter. The fee is $14,$10 for the safety part and $4 for the emissions part.
well compared to us in NYC and Long Island, that isn't emission's whatsoever.
gas cap and looking under the car does not equal putting the car on rollers and all that junk.

if i went to rochester to get an saftey inspection would there by any problem since i live in westchester? and its lil distance from where i live adn open dump tube involved?
well as of June 1st, the new law will be in effect. There is a spot on the DMV website about it and when it starts. If ******* sucks. An inspection is easy to get now, but when it comes time there is little room for error. The computer system can check if you have cleared codes withing a ceritan amount of days and ****. Plus, i have an obd1 ecu in my 96 cuz im turboed with hondata. what am i sopposed to do?

put your **** back to stock for a day i guess. thats what i had to do, but it never went back on after that

i would have to rewire my car, take out the turbo, and take out my swapped motor to go to stock. **** that. Thats like doin 2 motor swaps and 2 turbo installs for nothing. I have thought about it though.
frm what i heard about that new inspection **** is that the cars that dont have obd 2will end up getting a sniff test with a sample probe into the tail pipe
i just got a letter in the mail today at my shop and the state says that the obdII hook up will be in effect around 2007,next year some shops will have it. and from what i know it only checks to see if your computer has any cods in the history.
i dont think its going to be a problem for anyone. everyone is out for a buck $$
so there will still be shops doing them off outher cars!!!!!!
