Default Nylons and FMIC's

So instead of painting my IC black I decided to cover it with black nylons. My question is, is this going to be OK or is this going to inhibit the cooling capabilities of it? I used two layers of nylons stretched pretty good. This thing is black.
The only downfall I see is having to bust out the fingernail polish everytime I get a run.
Let me know what you all think.
TIA,
Ryan

Any thing that you do to block air flow will have an effect on how well it works. I like the idea though, it is creative.

Thanks! I know it will effect the cooling capabilities but will it hinder them substantially or should I be OK? Just trying to find a not so permanent solution for the sleeper look.

That was a great idea. i ask my girl this question and she told me the when she wears nylons it keeps her legs warm and not as cold on a windy.! so it will prevent some full capabilites from cooling. good try .. i neve thought of that

You should use the kind with the line up the back. Those are sexy

Yea, I tried some fishnets but they just didn't go with my interior.
No really, is this going to greatly effect perfomance or should I just paint it black?

well once you stretch out the nylon wouldn't it make the material spread out for air to go through?

We'll you could get an air temp sensor and guage and mount the sensor after the intercooler and see for yourself? Try it so you can give us all the answer and end the debate of "will it affect.....", TAKE ONE FOR THE TEAM!!!!!

Or if you had a stand alone, most likely it would read off your temp sensor in your intake pipe and you could do a before and after test that way.

Just my thoughts though!
David.

lol this reminds me of the post in the crx forum where someone used condoms for shock-piston covers or something like that to keep dust out
