Default NX Ntercooler Trick?

This sounds like a noob question, but is it possible to hide the NX Ntercooler behind your intercooler and have it work correctly, this way you can hide it.. sounds noob but i was just wondering when I woke up

Sure... if you drive in reverse all the time.

Just imagine the airflow.... and you'll understand its placement requirements

No, and it's useless anyways. The 50 WHP you see on the dyno is because your motor injests a bunch of nitrous, not from the 5 degree AIT drop.

im not sure where you have seen a 50 whp increase. I doubt the engine is consuming the amount necessary to create that much power.

It would be better to just spray directly into the engine and control fuel etc. These Ntercooler kits can be very inconsistent and hard to tune... if you even plan on tuning for this.

Are you sure it is useless? I was going to try one out for those really hot days at the track and see if it made any difference. I don't see how spraying it right before your about to take off can hurt. Same as icing down the IC.

I have read the write up where they get 50hp on the dyno b/c when they spray the nitrous gets sucked up in the air filter and produces the boost in power.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's useless. We ran it on a friends eclipse for a while, after we totally hosed down the IC after a long WOT pass air temps into the motor dropped by maybe 10 degrees on the next run. If you want charge cooling, run methanol injection.

Yeah but your 35hp gain comes at the cost of a 200 shot's worth of nitrous... Why not run it right into your intake, freeze the **** out of your intake temps, and get the 35hp with just 35hp worth of nitrous?

Matt

EDIT: and help spool your monster turbo a few thousand rpms sooner!?

@lbert&gt;&gt; You are supposed to spray before and during the run for max power.
Also you cannot bolt this to your drag kit and gain tons of power. Your computer needs to adjust fuel and timing accordingly. Not "bolt on power" like they say.
I used a relay with an adjustable 2-15 sec timer on someone's car.
</TD></TR></TABLE>

This was running on a car with a built 2.4L G4CS and a BB T70 P-trim with an AEM EMS, it wasn't like we bolted it onto an eclipse with a 16G and a tiny front mount. With a real intercooler that does a good job of cooling the air, this kit isn't worth ****. Go run alcohol injection, you can see real IAT's below ambient plus the effect of additional octane.

Does anyone realize how silly it is to place an oxidizer in the engine bay where it is free to roam?

Sounds almost as bad an idea as rear mount turbo's. Just my $.02.
