Now the fun begins!
As many of you know, I've been building a D16A1/ZC hybrid turbo engine for my 87 CRX Si. The wife and baby are out of town for the next week, so now is my chance to make it happen.
I finished the tranny last night and the engine is done. Wish me luck.

I'm gonna break everything in without the turbo (K.I.S.S.), get my Hondata working with this setup, and then install the turbo.

Damn, I cannot believe how time consuming cars are.
I've been in the garage for 18 hours in the last 2 days and I've just started.

Here's a look at the CRX's axle setup (bottom of the pic) vs the Integra axle setup that is going in (top of the pic). The Integra setup adds 17 lbs
but the brake rotors are an inch larger, the axles are 3mm thicker, and it's an equal length setup. Well worth the tradeoff, I think.

Bryson,
Yeah...gonna use the stock diff. We'll see how it works. I'm not shooting for quite the same amount of power that you are.
The ZC LSD is the only one that you can use and retain the equal length setup? In addition to the axles being the same length, I believe that they are larger than the unequal length axles that you'd have to run with a Quaife?
Sonny
Well...
I can use the ZC LSD, or my only other option right now is the Cusco 10 disc LSD (which I can get for 1175..
).
I am waiting to hear back from Viren if machining a Quaife to the size of the ZC axles be possible.
If It can't be machined, I am wondering how the car would be affected by using some custom made (beefier) un-equal length axles VS the equal lengths? I would pressume it wouldn't be that bad as long as the quaife does it's job...?

1175 for the Cusco? Dayuummm...

A Quaife + custom machining probably won't save you much either.
I thought you already had a ZC LSD. I'd be very tempted to try it out first before shelling out 1000+ for another LSD. I've spent $90 on my tranny. I think I might break it...but I kept the costs to a minimum so that I could try it before investing in an LSD.
Have you checked out http://www.opmmotorsports.com ?
It's my understanding that they take your stock diff and convert it to a clutch type LSD that is similar to a Kaaz.
Sonny
Really?
Hmmmm...I will have to email them!
Nope. i don't have the ZC LSD. I was told by a freind that his shop had some, and put one on hold for me. I waited almost a month for them to get it, and when the shop got it....no LSD.
Thanks for the link Sonny!!!
