Default NOS Sneeky Pete Kit

from what i know, the kit is made for carburetors applications only. i'm not trying to be fast and furious, i just need a little bang for my bucks. i think the kit is pretty unique since i can hide the little 10oz bottle from cops and the solonoids actually run off two 9-volt batteries so installation and removal is quick. so how do i get it to work on a fuel injected motor? would it be possible to get the kit and just buy a single fogger 'jet' and run it like a single fogger system?

Is nitrous illegal on street cars in Cali? Probably a stupid Q to you, but they don't even blink where I am... most of the guys here have highly visible tanks, except for the ones wanting sleeper installs. Those usually hide a tank in a fake sub box, etc, hint hint.

I don't have any experience with this kit, but if you think about how you mount and wire a regular kit before installing it would be just as easy to remove quickly.

Cali it is illegal to have nitrous in your car, well not so much have it in your car, but hooked up to a line period, you can have a tank back there, but not have the line hooked up to it, or the bottle armed. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

yea, ur pretty much screwed here if ur caught w/ nitrious in ur car. i believe they consider it transportation of hazadious matrial and of course it's not a carb legal mod. i just want the kit because i'm thinking i can hook everythin to the intake arm itself (ie, mount the solonoids on to the intake arm, mount the bottle under the hood) and have your "nos intake" and your "regular" intake.

why dont you just make the bottle look like a subwoofer? or in the sneaky pete case, make it look like a capacitor thing for your sound system?

Hehe, sorry this is not a technical post, but it just flew by my mind when I read your post.

Didn't GM come out with some V6 midsized sedancrap, Bonneville or something, that had a tank in the trunk? It didn't give a large bump, but it came on in increments at mid to WOT. I know I'm going way OT here, but I wonder if that vehicle is even legal in Cali?

Are you sure? I've heard that as long as the bottle is not opened, you are fine... since having it hooked up doesn't change anything in your emissions, and I don't believe you need any special permit to carry nitrous.

I was also under the impression that you can't have the bottle open. I ran nitous for about a year.

As for stealth:
I did have the solenods mounted stealthlyon the fire wall and blacked out so it didn't say NOS on them. Steal braided lines were covered by wire loom in the engine bay. I also cut the bottom of a rectangular gym/duffle bag to put over the bottle just in case though.

the problem with the sneaky pete kit is that it has no provisions for fuel, so you run the risk of detonation... definately not a cost effective route to spray a FI car...

I thought a couple of years back I saw a "rental nitrous kit" it wasnt made by NOS, it was one of the other companies.. it was all contained in a duffle bag and it pluged into the cigarette lighter... if that is still around that might be a way to go, byt realistically I think you should buy a used kit and just be sneaky with the install as suggested...

I couldnt find the kit I was thinking of after doing a search.. prolly doesnt exist after all

yea, that kit would've been nice, that's what i was trying to do with the sneeky pete kit. after reading around i guess the best way is to just get a single fogger system. and if i wanted to i can get the 10oz bottle later and run that.

what are the rules for mounted the bottle again? i can't just have the bottle in the passenger seat can i?

That is what you should do. It's very easy to hide a basic dry system.

Although I would choose a little bigger bottle.
A 10oz bottle will only last you 1 run (maybe not even 1 full run, depending on the shot size).

This kit crossed my mind for a split second, it's not worth anything IMO.
It even says in the description that it's only good for 1/10th of a second...
so now a civic that runs 16.10 now runs 16.00 Is that worth $200?

You guys are funny talking about laws and crap.
Most people here are turbo, and 98% of them arent stock greddy kits either.

NO2 can be hidden easily. But the sneaky peat wont do a damn thing for a car I dont think---bikes may be a different story. You blast it twice and its gone.

the kit is a 50shot i believe, on a heavy *** domestic that might be 1/10th of a second but on a lil gutted integra i'm thinking i can pull better #'s than that. i'm just gonna get a single foger though.

I heard (read actually) that it was a 20- 25 shot. Also i know of two peole who ran this kit (one was on a civic and another on a chev 1500).The latter of the two was for ***** and giggles.
In both cases it was not worth it.
A 50 shot better give better then 1/10th of second even on a muscle car.JMO
