imm looking at buying this block

thers seems to be alot of rust and particles in the sleeves....is that normal and will it come off??? is it anything to worry about?? sorry i dont have expierience with used blocks

Looks like it sat out for sometime. My GE block was wrapped in plastic and sat in the garage for a month or so. I have a few SMALL rust particles but nothing that major. That looks like it needs a good cleaning. As long as the cylinder wall aren't scored or rusted up I would say it should be OK.

I think you could hone it. I honed my first LS block not having a clue what I was doing. During break in all my compression # were dead even at 210. As long as you do each cylinder consistantly you will be fine. I say give it a god 4-5 strokes using plenty of oil and you will be golden.
