Default noob question

let me start by saying
I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT TURBO
now
ive noticed cars that have V6's or higher have twin turbo
ive also noticed (actually havent looked into it) 4 bangers dont
does it have to do w/ exhaust manifolds???
can us 4 bangers not run twin turbo cuz we onbly have single exhaust?
any and all info would be nice
and, try to go easy on me

V6/V8's have two banks of cylinders. You can run an exhaust manifold off of each head into a turbo. Or if you're really trying to spool a huge monster turbo, run all 6 or 8 cylinders into one collector to spool it.

4 bangers only have one set of exhaust ports to feed into the turbine. Due to the unique firing pattern of a 4 cylinder, it's more efficient to feed all 4 ports into one turbine, instead of splitting up the exhaust into two seperate turbos.
