Default no boost, help!

Here is my situation. I just hooked up my turbo kit to a 2000 honda civic EX. I got everything hooked up and double checked. I have no exhaust at the moment because I have an appointment at the muffler shop to get it made. I started it up and took it for a quick test run down the street and it was acting really wierd. For one it wasn't idling right and the air/fuel gauge said I was running rich then lean but it alwasy says that I run lean when I first start the engine. Then as I drove I didn't really get it over 3500rpms maybe 4000rpms, I can't remember but it wasn't creating any boost. Could this be because I don't have any exhaust? I don't think there are any leaks in the charger piping. Also the exhaust gas was blue which I think means it running rich. Does anyone have ay ideas. Thanks

Blue smoke = burning oil.

Would that have to do with my turbo burning oil or my engine?
