my turbo doesnt spin at idle I searched and some people are saying shot bearings and some are saying it normal. I have a godspeed 57 trim. Also my waste gate is letting out exhaust at idle, can missing a fire ring cause this? Also can missing a fire ring on my waste gate cause no boost at all, I can hear the turbo spinning but dont feel any boost at all I did a leak test none of the couplers or piping is leaking wich only leaves the wastegate im assuming. My bov also makes no noise can the fire ring cause this as well? I did search and from what I read missing the firing ring is the problem but can it really cause no boost and my turbo from not spinning at idle? thanks

The missing fire ring is your entire problem.

i cant find a fire ring for a ebay style will a 38mm tial fire ring fit a ebay wastegate? dont tell me to just buy a new one or a tial im not point blank but just need to know if anyone has used a tial one with no leaks thanks

The fire rings are the same... the only people that sell replacement fire rings is tial.... or you could try searching Google

Even with the fire ring installed, your turbo may not spin at idle or build boost on free rev.

 

The 57 trim should spin.... just saying

But without a fire ring there was too much exhaust gas/pressure bypassing the turbine.

 

ok so i put installed my fire took it for a spin and still no boost and no i am not free reving lol I drove it around my block and I can hear the turbo spool but it wont produce boost. There is no exhaust coming from the wastegate anymore either and the turbo does spin at idle now but will not make any power

 

boost leak... or your turbo is shot, check for shaft play. ebay turbos can fail on the first startup

 

Check for boost leaks. If you cant find any, take the compressor housing off the turbo and look for scuffing. If the turbo has a bad bearing or the tolerances are too loose, it will wobble and contact the housing. It will spin, but never fast enough to make positive pressure.

 

did you physically go look at the turbo and check it just now?

 

what lb wastegate spring do you have? Do you have one at all? are you sure you have your vaccumn lines hooked correctly? Is your Blow off valve stuck open?

 

What kind of wastegate? some like tial need a vacuum line hooked up and it also depends where its hooked up. Top or bottom. Plus, my turbo setup didn't spin at idle either.

 

I think it might be the bov noob question should i set it to soft or hard

 

I dont think its a boost leak since i triple checked everything and the turbo is new and has no shaft play

 

its a cheap egay wastegate but its new and the turbo doesnt have any play bump

Also i just installed my injectors and walbro i have a chipped ecu with basemap butthe car has bouncy idle from 1000 to 3000

 

Not a fan of the "chipped" ecu gang, from my understanding, you really don't know what you have. Your wastegate...it's a knock off...do you understand? eBay isn't bad, if its not a moving part. I buy items for my car from eBay but they're the real thing and not a knock off brand
