No...

The "Switch" in the picture is your FACTORY POWER WIRE that would normally go to the fan.

So you just scrolled right past my detailed explanation ??

Good luck

I don't see a detailed explanation on how to wire this fan up from you in this thread. I see all the info you stated about aerodynamics and ducting.

I have mine wired the same as your diagram then if that switch referents the +12v from the stock fan harness. I'm almost home I will double check. Maybe I'm just tired and missed something

Yes use the 12v from the stock fan harness

Re: No air flow to radiator..... Need help!!!!!

So I made it home and here's how it's wired up.
There aren't numbers directly next to each wire on this relay so I can't just name numbers and colors.
Yellow wire is running fused straight to the battery
Red wire is going to the fan
Black wire from fan is going to tans. Ground
Orange wire is going to stock fan plug (blk w/red)+12v
Grey plug going to body ground.

Hooked up this way the fan will turn on when I reaches a certain temp but doesn't turn back off until the key is turned off.

Also I just moved the grey wire to one of the 2 wires on the the thermostat housing. But same results as before.

Should I try the grey wire on the other 2nd wire on the housing or will that just not work.

Broo

Ur making this way too hard

Post a pic of your relay and ill tell you where to put the wires

The terminal view of the relay

turbohatch96y7 09-28-2015 02:09 PM

Also once the coolant get to a certain temp fan comes on

Do you have hondata ? Watch the temps and make sure they drop when the fan kicks on

That's what frustrating cause it should be wired right.

Relay

turbohatch96y7 09-28-2015 02:52 PM

Okay put the red to the batt. With a fuse inline

The yellow to the fan positive

Then the two small ones one goe to the stock fan harness {12v switched by ems} and the other goes to chassis ground

Then Ground the spal fan

Done

turbohatch96y7 09-28-2015 03:01 PM

If the fan doesnt turn off after that then you having cooling problems or things

Re: No air flow to radiator..... Need help!!!!!

I will got on this in about 2 hours. Thanks. So were the directions wrong?

turbohatch96y7 09-28-2015 03:21 PM

30 and 87a are the thicker wires and 85 and 86 are the thinner wires

I didn't look at the diagram again so the colors might be reversed

The way i told you to wire it will work 100 percent

turbohatch96y7 09-28-2015 03:24 PM

Yellow goes to batt red goes to fan. These two can be flipped doesnt matter

The grey and orange also. Switched 12v is orange which you will get from the stock fan harness

The grey is going to ground

This is exactly how I have it hooked up already. So I need to look into another problem. But before I installed the relay my stock system would cut on and off at idle.

Guess I have some more researching to do.

turbohatch96y7 09-28-2015 06:41 PM

What ems do you have? The fan doesnt always need to be running

Have a p28 with Hondata s300

Re: No air flow to radiator..... Need help!!!!!

You need to de-pin the and rewire the connection part of the relay. The fan signal is a negative output, so by adding the relay you have to make it a positive output.

86 and 30 need fused power
85 goes to trigger
82 goes to the spal

Hope this helps

So to clarify

86=grey wire=needs to be 12v fused
30=yellow= 13v fused to battery
85=orange= trigger ( where is that for my car) oem fan 12v plug???
87=red= to the spal fan
