Default Nitrous question...retarding timing on ob2 distributor

I will be getting a used nos set-up while building up my b16 and something just dawned on me.

I want to run a 75-shot on my d1678 for now and i know about retarding timing to 4 degrees but since it is obd2 wont the computer reset the timing back to factory specs? It would suck to blow a hole in my block.

Is this true or not.

TIA

Not sure about hondas, but my gf's 200SX is OBD2, and it never retarded the timing when we advanced it at the distributor, even after months of driving.

On the other hand, it would adjust fuel from the SAFC back to stock within half a second.

obd2 - obd1 conversion harness are pretty cheap now, and they just plug right in, no real work involved.
