Nitrous Install/Mounting
Hey Bottlefeeders,
I am installing a Harrisworks wet kit in my del Sol. I am trying to be stealth in the install, but NHRA/IHRA legal, so I came up with a pretty neat idea, although I don't know if this has been done.
I tried using the search feature, but the Engine is down.
What I did was take apart my underhood fusebox and fed the connectors back through the firewall under the dash. I then lengthened the battery wire and the other wire to fit and routed them underneath the battery tray. I reassembled the fusebox underdash on the passenger side, freeing up the space where it was originally mounted.
Now, I am taking another fusebox, gutting it, mounting the fuel and nitrous solenoids inside, running the fuel and nitrous feedlines and wiring through the bottom, loomed, and have the lines after the solenoid come out of the battery wire holes, loomed, up to the intake.
Has anyone ever done this, and if so, are there any little pitfalls/tricks to it, so I can avoid a catastrophe? Pics are soon to come. Thanks in advance!

the point is to able to pop the hood and let people snoop around and see that there is *nothing to fear*. It looks like a stock B16A or B18C in there. The only thing that throws it off is the red valve cover. No turbo, no supercharger. Just a 2.2L sleeved LS/VTEC @ 11.4:1 c/r.

I mounted my solenionds on my firewall above the crossmember about 3 inches. and the intake manifolds is at the top so theres no way to see them. then wrapped my braid steel line with black wire loom.
I already have loom ready, I jsut wanted so see if anyone ever tried to hide solenoids in the fuse box before. Just sourced a box. when it comes in, I'll show buildup pics.

Sorry again, I just don't see the point in hiding it lol. Unless all you do is street race, with a good grip on the line, why bother? If that's what you do pay not attention to me lol.
Btw there are many places to hide the solenoids and all, the problem is hiding a bottle that will hold enough for consecutive runs.

The bottle stays in the trunk, and I keep it hidden in a duffelbag I cut the bottom out of. The line runs under the carpet to the bottle from the rear. Its pretty stealth.
Sh**, where i live, if you race someone and tell them you dont have nitrous and they find out that you do have nitrous. Your going to get beat down. lol People hate nitrous here.
It's all good guy's, as I said, I wasn't tryin to hate or anything, just trying to understand. As long as you can hide the bottle decently as you said you do, the noid's and lines should be really easy. You just have to use longer lines than usual and cover them with wire loom. Or you could get the NX "race" lines that are black and resemble vaccum hose to the casual person.
Update, fuse box just came in the mail today. I will post pics of it, and the gutting process hopefully tonight.
Later this week I'll be off to Jackovich to get the neccessary AN fitings and elbows to make it all work right.
