Nitrous do's and dont's ????
Ok before anyone says anything I did a search and couldn't find anything on what I am looking for. Basically what are the do's and don'ts of useing nitrous? I'm planning on running a zex 55 shot with zex 2 step colder plugs. Is there anything else I need to know? I heard somewhere that you are supposed to reset your ecu? Is this true? here's what i have basically
Do's:
- get colder plugs
- retard your timing by 2 degree's after a 55 shot
don't:
-spray in 1rst or 5th gear
- increase your timing at all

-Don't spray for more than 15 seconds or the coil in your noids might melt.
-Don't retard your timing for a 55 shot
-Do get a purge kit
-Do get a bottle heater
-Do check your plugs for detonation often
-Do spray in 1st
-Do some more research
-Don't blow your motor
-Do a compression test before you install the Zex kit.

**** that pretty much sums it up

don't use zex plugs...they are ****. use ngk one step colder plugs. u don't need to go 2 steps colder for a zex 55 shot. btw, zex rates their hp gain from the flywheel whereas NOS/nx rate their jettings for hp gain to the wheel.
yeah dont use the zex spark plugs, plus, i didnt think you were supposed to get colder plugs for just a 55 shot
also according to NOS (which i'm more familiar with) they dont recomend any timing alterations until 75 shot and after.
just make sure to always keep bottle pressure at optimal, dont let the pressure get to low=lower shot, higher pressure=bigger shot (kinda)
dont get caught with the bottle in the car hooked up on the street
this is a dry kit? dont much about zex, im more of a NOS and NX fan

Zex makes a wet and dry kit now.
Colder plugs are recommended for a 55 shot. Some people get away without them, but some don't. It's just a safety precaution and a cheap one at that.
