newbie question...catch can

Default newbie question...catch can

ok i seen alot of turbo cars with catch can and search online but couldnt find anything much about it. and was wondering what does a catch can do? or how does it help with a turbo motor?

helps prevent crankcase venelation. it does basically what it sounds like, catches the oil from blowby.

They actually AID or Allow crankcase ventilation.

It stops excess pressure from building up in the crankcase. Venting it to atmosphere or drawing it out via vacuum as supplied from the turbo intlet or exhaust piping... Most just go to atmosphere though.

Highly recommended if your block doesnt vent excess cranckcase gases and you are boosting.
