Default New turbo, many problems

I have a d16z6 that I've just finished installing a 60 trim on. I've had all of these problems with both stock chip and a generic 8psi turbo 450cc basemap. I've got stock injectors now because I'm scared adding fuel could create more problems. Thanks for any input.

So 1) Before the turbo, my motor would max at 105 mph. Now it won't go past 85 downhill.

2) My wideband sensor almost always reads 19 afr, and it sends simulated nb to my computer, so I'm guessing it's running rich to compensate, but I guess it could actually be lean.

3) After reaching 85 mph, I get a cloud of blue smoke, the size seems to correlate to how long I keep the pedal down. I can floor it from 0 to 60 without smoking, though, and it hasn't ever smoked while in throttle.

4) Acceleration seems to have sweet spots in the throttle that pull strong, but more or less pedal and my power disappears.

You need a tune. Before that Read the FAQ.........

Stop right now.

stock injectors, stock pump, stock ecu under boost is dangerously lean. you've probably already damaged the motor.

the stock ecu can't see positive pressure so the car should be totally undrivable.

Well it's definitely not undrivable. Are you saying a tune could fix all these issues?

A tune SHOULD fix it. If u didn't already damage the motor.

The stock ecu doesn't add enough fuel and the timing is wrong. THE STOCK ECU CANNOT SEE POSITIVE PRESSURE FROM THE MAP SENSOR. IT PUTS THE CAR IN LIMP MODE

STOP DRIVING THE ******* THING AND GET IT TUNED

or keep driving and crack a ringland (probably already happened) pop a headgasket, or break a sleeve, throw a rod, etc.

Wow...

Unless you want to rebuild/replace that engine, you had better get a tune. The stock injectors can't handle that fuel demand, the stock ECU doesn't understand or adjust for boost, and without a tune to speak of, you're running dangerously lean in your so-called 'sweet spots'. Its only a matter of time until you either crack a ringland/sleeve or melt a hole in a piston...

This is why you research BEFORE you boost, not after

So bypassing all the flame, I'm feeling Kevlar this morning, I should leave the basemap i have and install my 450s. Any other advice?

Before doing anything else do a compression test. If what you say is true your ring lands are probably toast.

Ok. Will do. And if they're okay, I should install the injectors?

To all the band wagoneers, compression test read 210 across them all.

Band-wagoners? Dont act so ******* smug...You've gotten lucky so far, but that luck will run out.

Drivable... Lol a 19:1 air fuel ratio is so far from drivable and safe it's not even funny.

bandwagons have **** all to do with the fact that you're doing it wrong.

put your 450s in, scale a basemap for the injectors and get it tuned immediately. don't drive it and don't beat on it. tow it.

the pistons have no doubt been weakened by extremely lean air fuel mixtures and highly excessive combustion chamber and exhaust gas temps.

you've simply gotten lucky, the way you were beating on that motor with a stock ecu it should have destroyed a piston or two.

you're asking for "advice" when all this post is, is advice.... READ, and COMPREHEND....

You know what I did when I installed different injectors?

I took my ecu to a local tuner and asked him to edit it for my injectors ( I did this on two occassions) with 450s, and 1000ccs, and drove it to the tuner gently (5 miles max) Seriously, you're stupid if you boosted the thing completely stock... You can't just throw a ******* turbo on it and whale on it.

OF COURSE IT RUNS LIKE ****, ITS NOT ******* TUNED!!!

part of me wants the motor to be garbage so you learn a valuable lesson. Also you should appreciate the help you get here, we don't have to help you.

Side note, I bet two other people on this thread have actually installed a turbo on their own vehicle. I've come to learn. If that's not what this site is for, I'll find another way. No worries.

Most people learn BEFORE they do things, so they dont **** up. You've already fucked up.

Just remember, there's only one idiot in this thread...
