I feel that the only drawback to the Neptune system is that there is currently no user adjustability. For track cars, features such as 2 step and boost controller activation need adjusting. I beleive that user adjustability is currently being worked on but ive yet to hear a release date.
Can someone explain what would need to be done if a car has already been tuned on Neptune, then the software is released. Would the tuner be able to reburn a map and email to the user?

can you explain this any further?
The more you press the gas the higher the 2 step rpm?

You are correct and JR is working on something that allows the end user more control over simple functions such as Rpm/Mph control for Full Throttle Launch Control; control of when low/high boost engages; nitrous functions; etc, but will not allow the end user to mess with any of the fuel/timing maps.

That is exactly what im waiting for. My real question is...Would it be OK to go ahead and get tuned, then when the new features/user adjustability is released then i can just update my system and add the controls for these functions?
I will be going from Ohio to PA to tune. And if i have to go all the way back when the new features are released that would be very difficult.
Can someone explain how you adjust your 2 step

well here's the thing... a lot of people have said that its cheaper than hondata, but i pm'd dave from whip factory and he quoted me a price that was very similar to hondata prices... what's up with that. i mean from what i've heard and read, if its at hondata prices that still a good deal, but what about the whole being cheaper than hondata thing then... some marketing scheme???
let me say that hondata in town here costs $500 with the boost option plus dyno/tuning time on top of that.

Hondata is overpriced to begin with. As far as pricing for NepTune goes, I have yet to know a NepTuner who charges more for a NepTune tuning session (NepTune, Dyno/Street Tune, Dyno Time, ECU and even Socketing) than they do for Hondata Tuning. So I do not know where you are getting your quotes. Even selling Hondata and going with NepTune is a way you can also make money back in some situations, depending on what you need to have done.

On average between what different neptune tuners are charging you'll find that neptune costs around the same with dyno tuning/street tuning as what would purchasing just the hondata system.

see that's what i was thinking, and thats what everyone has said. like i said hondata usually runs about $500 w/ the boost option, and then dyno/street tune time on top of that? right??? well here's the quote i got from superdave and whipfactory. i'm not trying to take anything away from Neptune. it has proven itself, and people are making great power with it. I just don't want to sound like the idiot who doesn't know what they are talking about.
(12:53 PM 3/4/2005) bogus_ek: rumors have it that you guys are now doing neptune... just wondering if there is any truth to it, and if so what pricing look like, and does the normal whipfactory tuning prices apply to neptune tuning??? thanks
(1:34 PM 3/4/2005) Suprdave: Neptune is $500 for Tuning\Software. plus Dyno time.
