Default The Need For Valves

Cost and best spot to buy Ferrea SS valves ? They have a "COMBO KIT" I would like to have that...I have a fully built LS block although it's not been sleeved...
With JE pistons and Eagle rods with a Victor X intake manifold B16A head ARP studs, Cometic head gasket Rev-Hard T3-T4 fully upgraded turbo...yes the big boy ! And I want to make sure the head is safe and solid...I have a crap load of mods to many to list here my concern is the head after every other spot has been beefed up......Suggestions ? Opinions ? Ideas ? Welcome...

Thanks.

so you think stock intake valves are fine on a high hp turbo motor. I'd think to go SS for intake and exhaust, just oversize the exhaust ones.

Actually... if you need to skimp, you can just go SS on the exaust, since those valves see the higher temps.

The reason I said 1 over on the exhaust is because you are turbo... contributes to a quicker spool. Oversizing the intakes could have a negative effect at low rpm... just like doing a 5 angle valve job on a street car can be un-appealing.

My b16 has with ferrea valve train .5mm over size valves. The package was about $950. If you are want serious power this is something you need to look into.

I dont know if the exhaust valves are the ones you want oversized...I thought the intake valves make a greater difference.

Bigger intake valves more air = more power.

I've heard of instances where a 'decent' valve job on the intakes can lose some low end... the only reason I recommended the possibility of SS on the exhaust only is purely cost (which affects MOST of us) Seeing that the engine is boosted, the exhaust valves would be most at risk, so go SS.... secondly, oversizing the exhaust valves will provide faster spool times... so you would benefit from just doing the exhaust.

But they.. if you have the flow for both, save the guess work and fork it over for a portflow treatment !
