Default need some tips on breaking in a new motor

hi guys!! i'm not in the turbo forum much, but I need some advice on this. I just recently got my block rebuilt after blowing it and needed some tips on how to break the motor in.

The endyn instructions say to keep it below 3500 rpm for the first 500 miles, then for every 200 miles i put on i can increase the rpm by 500. Is this the precedure you guys use for breaking in a new motor? My roomate says that after the rings are sealed, I should punch it and that it should be good to go after 500 miles.

Also, what oil do you guys recommend for breaking in a new motor? is 10w-30 ok? or should i get some thicker oil?

Thanks a lot guys!!!

just got my block from GE yesterday along with my 84mm Endyne pistons and i'm using there instructions to break my motor in. My buddy on here NekkedR has almost 3,000 miles on his Type-R and it's running great and it was broke it same way. Good luck and take your time and stay out of the pedal.
