ok well i have been doing alot of thinking about what i want to do with my car and what would be wurth my troubles. heres my case:
i have a 92 hatch with a b18c that smokes. i am wanting to go turbo with this motor, i love the torque.
option one is keeping the motor. peacing together a turbo kit which would take some time due to money.
or option 2 sell the whole swap. buy a d15b or z6 swap and peace together a turbo. i can probably do all of that pretty quick if i sel the gsr\
only thing is if i turbo the gsr motor, not sure how long will last me due to the smoking problem. havent had a chance to comp check. but will soon. on the other hand, i had a 89 civic hatch with a b16turbo and i loved the top end and power band. lacked in the bottom end but more than made up for it up top.
so heres my problem. if i turbo the gsr ill have more bottom end but can possible blow her. if i turbo a z6 ill have less bottom end but will be more reliable.
or option 3...... build the bottom end on the b18c and turbo. this will take a long time for me and i dont want to invest THAT much.
so im having a hard time making up my mind.

I am sitting in the same boat. So my solution is to buy a cheap d series swap to run while I save up and build my b18c. I guess while I am at it I will have a chance to learn tuning on a cheap motor that I don't care much about and maybe fab up some log manifold for the d and turbo it to further my knowledge and such. Should work out ok as long as I can get the swap at a decent price. Plus better fuel mileage for added savings to be spent on the b18c.
