Default Need some advice on getting my head built.

I am fully building the bottom end of my b16a (golden eagle sleeves, je pistons, eagle rods, etc.) and I now I need to get my head rebuilt. The valve stem seals are bad, so I am just going to go all out and build the entire head. Couple of questions before I procede:

1. It is beneficial (adds horsepower) if I up my redline on my stock vtec cams to 8500?

2. What is the best spring/retainer combo for the money?

I was originally going to have a 9000 rpm redline with my turbo, but after my friend had alot of up keep on his bottom end (tearing his engine down and checking the bearings every couple of months) I think that I just want to keep the stock redline or move it up a little. Any thoughts/comments on having a higher redline with turbo?

Thanks, Jeff

You may not always gain HP by just upping the redline, you may acutally lose HP. If your going to get your head done, then might as well get it ported. Increasing the amt of air that flows through will gain HP given that you have enough spark and fuel to go with the extra air. Bang for the buck springs and retainers are Webcams.
