Need opinions FAST PLEASE!!!
Car is finally being dynoed tomorrow! Need to know the safest and most psi I can run until next year. 94 civic D16Z6 151,000 miles dealer maintained grandma car till 120,000 greddy intercooled turbo blitz BOV walbro 255 DSM 450s with inline reesistors new timing belt water pump all belts ngk bkr 7s msd wires tuned with the emanage with extra injector harness and timing harness. My goal is 200 or better whp but still reliable for another 30,000 miles or so I have a turboXS dual stage controller I would like to see set at 6psi for the street and more for some occasional track runs. I am under the impression stock internals are good for 200whp can I turn up my boost till I achieve that safely ??? Any and all input would be greatly appreciated
yea but d series sleeves shift under pressure and causes the head to lift and blow headgaskets all the time. My friend had a 00 ex with 30k on the motor and 12psi and blew 3 head gaskets. Its all a matter of time.
if you want it to last another 30k i'd say keep it under 10psi and it should hold safely, but you never know. tuning is very important but it sometimes only gets you so far once you start boosting on a high mile motor. Have you done a compression or leak down test yet to see what shape the motor is in???
if u want to make max power tune on 11 to 12 psi
i ran on 12 psi on a good tune for 8 months and nothing ever went wrong, it was quick for a d series @ 12 psi
12 psi u can use ur stock map sensor, well 11.7 psi almost 12, it will be fine.

compression was good dont know how to do leakdown though. It is in the shop already though. Hoping they can tune it at 9psi and just be happy with that for awhile

well folks the dyno didnt go so well for some reason the the vtec controls for the emanage werent in the software. We couldnt get it to lean out at 5000rpm and above. The funniest part was it pulled 146whp and a 155wtq. Now if we could get some vtec action ........... Now Im really trying to figure out how to switch to uberdata I was only using the emanage because it came with the kit but after 2 hours of tuning im not too impressed with it

well thats a 00 ex with a y8. it seems to me that the z6 is better suited for boost.
